FINGERPRINT HOURS:

We provide both LiveScan and Ink Fingerprinting options.

Follow the instructions below:

LiveScan

LiveScan fingerprints are done by appointment only. Appointment can be made by sending an email request to livescan@umbc.edu In your request please make sure you mention what you need to be fingerprinted for. There are some licenses/codes that our machine cannot process, this includes Physicians Licensing (includes Audiologists, Speech Pathologists, and physician assistants) and Mortuary Licenses.

FOR FAST AND ACCURATE SERVICE:

If you are requesting a background check for employment or licensing purposes you must have all documentation from the requester to include the agency name and authorization number (10 digits). If your background check is being sent to a government agency you may also need an ORI number (example MD004455Y). You must bring a valid form of government identification. (Examples: driver’s license, Certificate of Naturalization, passport, or Military Identification).

Fill out the attached form, print it and bring it to our fingerprinting center at UMBC Police Headquarters. Bring payment as indicated below. All fees must be paid by Check, Money Order, or Cash in the exact amount). No credit cards!

Ink Fingerprinting

Ink fingerprints require no appointment and can be done at any time. Depending on the availability of members of the department, there may be a short wait.

Ink printing is available for applicant cards from other states, cards not supported by LiveScan software, and FBI-only background checks at a cost of $ 20.00 per card (Check, Money Order, or Cash in the exact amount). No credit cards!

All cards must be provided by the applicant. Hands should be clean, without bandages or broken skin. If you have an injury that prevents you from rotating your arm or wrist, please wait until you can do so. Without a wait or exceptional circumstances, fingerprinting should take about 10-15 minutes. This service is first-come first-served. Every attempt is made to ensure the quality of the prints. Please give yourself a large window of time to be fingerprinted, in the event of high volume or exceptional circumstances.

FINGERPRINT PAYMENT:

We accept CASH as long as it’s the “exact amount” and CHECKS or MONEY ORDERS made payable to UMBC.
