Commencement

Congratulations to our 2018 graduates!

A message from the UMBC Police

On Thursday May 24th for the first time in 20 years UMBC will hold spring commencement for undergraduate students on our campus at the new Event Center. Extensive planning has taken place for this special day with many departments and stakeholders.

Two commencements will take place that day, one beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a second one beginning at 4:00 p.m.  We are expecting extremely heavy traffic between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m coming onto campus and then from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. exiting campus.  For the second commencement expect heavy traffic between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. coming onto campus and then from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. exiting campus.  Please avoid travelling to and from campus during these hours and/or use alternative entrances and exits to campus (see below).   Alternative work arrangements or schedules may be offered to employees at the discretion of the supervisor in order to avoid high traffic periods.  All campus offices will remain open and services will continue to be offered.

Graduates please share this information with your friends and family members attending the graduation.
