Daily Crime & Fire Log

The Crime Log is a record of all alleged crimes and all alleged attempted crimes that occurred on campus or within our jurisdiction and were reported to UMBC Police or a Campus Security Authority (CSA). The Fire Log is a record of all fire-related incidents that occurred in on-campus student housing facilities.

The most recent 60-day period of the Crime Log and Fire Log is maintained on this page and open to public inspection, free of charge, during normal business hours. Email police@umbc.edu to inspect any logs that are older than the most recent 60-day period. Requests will be processed within 2 business days.

The current status or final outcome of the incident is labeled as the Disposition, which may be one of the following:

  • OPEN: Currently under investigation.
  • CLOSED/SUSPENDED: All viable leads exhausted without results. Active investigation is discontinued.
  • CLEARED BY ARREST: Individual(s) arrested or charges filed.
  • CLEARED BY EXCEPTION: There is sufficient information to support an arrest and charges, but circumstances (victim or prosecutor declined prosecution) prohibit an arrest. No further action.
  • UNFOUNDED: Investigation determined no offense occurred nor was attempted. No further action.
